Introduction
SeniorNet Marlborough Sounds Inc. was formed in 2002 and is a member of the Federation of SeniorNets; a New Zealand wide organisation to help Seniors learn about new technology, in particular computers.
Our equipment includes four up to date computers, with the Windows 7 Professional operating system, one laptop with Windows 7, a projector, two printers and a scanner as well as aid for people with disabilities. These are housed in the community room at Linkwater.
In 2009 we held a large number of successful courses for our seventy plus members. Small classes of four students and two tutors ensured individual attention and success.
For 2010 we plan a wide variety of courses, with a special emphasis on one session workshops dealing with specific topics. The first will start in March with more planned over the next few months.
We are members of the Federation of SeniorNets and through them provide courses approved by the Tertiary Education Commission.
Members are kept informed of our activities, workshops and courses through regular newsletters and emails.
Our Aim:
To provide learning opportunities to enable people aged 50 plus, or even younger at times, living in the Marlborough Sounds to become computer literate in a friendly and enjoyable way.
